About

Nourah Alammary has been captivated by music and singing since childhood. Her first memories with singing started with singing along to musicals and MTV. Her passion for singing was a spark that burned brighter with each song memorized, each lyric appreciated, each melody absorbed and gained momentum once she started to train. Always enamored by all types of music and its effect on our moods. They say “practice makes perfect” and practice she did. She developed a kind of smoothness to her voice juxtaposed with deeper tones that are occasionally mixed with some rough vocals to brand her voice as dynamic. A kind of voice you lounge to and unwind. It’s no wonder the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews, Sarah McLachlan, and Sade are a major inspiration to her. In Saudi Arabia, where she grew up, talents such as singing and songwriting were not easy to pursue. In spite of the culture, she still took up the challenge performing for the first time with her friend Sean in 2016. Together they began to develop their act as the Duo. In January of 2019, GEA issued public performance permits and she was able to perform officially for the first time with Sean at the Seven Moons event venue. This launched a series of performances at many local restaurants and events such as Soho Club, Draft Café, Zoho Café, and the MDLBeast festival to name a few. Her proudest moment in 2019, was being asked to perform at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C to celebrate the 89th Saudi National Day . Followed by an invitation to represent Saudi at the German cultural days to sing with the Johannes Bigge Trio, performing a few jazz classics as part of a cross cultural exercise.
