The very first MUN event at the Syrup Stage

An MUN (Model United Nations), in a nutshell, is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. This practice, which dates all the way back to the 1920s, teaches participants skills like research, public speaking, debating, and writing, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership.

Many schools and organizations around the world have arranged such simulations over the past century, making them a commonplace practice specifically for high school students. And what a thrill it was to discover that this practice was being adopted by stellar high school students here in Saudi Arabia!

The Falcon Initiative was founded by highly motivated high school students aiming to host and organize MUNs. Seeing a lack of this practice, they took it upon themselves to make it more commonplace in Saudi Arabia.

We were delighted when they reached out to us to host the event at the Syrup Stage. It was our first time handling an event of this kind and we were excited to take part in it. We wish them the best of luck on their journey and hope they achieve their vision.
