Anime Gathering
[RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, June 2021]
Anime has had a low-profile cult following in Saudi Arabia for the longest time. And with the recent changes in the arts sector of the country, the community has come to light in big numbers spurring many companies to cater to them.
Coincidentally, our community of artists and musicians has always overlapped with the anime community. And as apprectiation for them and the art medium itself, we launched the first of many Anime Gatherings at Syrup.
The gathering included activities such as a bazaar of anime merch local shops, cosplay competition, and karaoke performances. The level of dedication can be seen with each passing intricate cosplay, each visibly showing layers of hard work constructing the look.
